These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the MoneyKhata mobile application ("App"), developed and operated by Dolly Kumari ("we", "us", "our").
By downloading, installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
MoneyKhata is a personal finance and digital khata (ledger) application. It helps you record expenses, income and money given to or received from other people, set budgets and reminders, view reports, and keep backups.
The App is a record-keeping tool only — it is not a bank, wallet, payment processor, lending service or investment service, and it does not hold, move or manage money on your behalf.
UPI features only prepare a standard UPI request for you to approve in your own UPI app; the payment itself happens entirely outside MoneyKhata.
MoneyKhata is local-first: your records are stored on your device by default and you are responsible for them. Keep regular backups (Settings → Backup & Restore); if you lose your device or its data without a backup, we cannot recover it.
Backups are encrypted on your device before they leave it. If you lose your backup password, no one — including us — can open that file.
Optional cloud sync (signed-in users) is a convenience, provided best-effort. We do not guarantee uninterrupted sync availability.
All figures, balances, summaries and AI Assistant answers in the App are informational outputs of the data you enter.
They are not financial, tax, investment or legal advice, and no advice relationship is created by using the App.
Verify amounts before acting on them; you remain solely responsible for your financial decisions.
You agree to use the App only for lawful, personal purposes.
You may not:
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the App except as permitted by law;
Interfere with the App's servers;
Use the App in a way that violates these Terms;
Claim MoneyKhata as your own or re-publish it.
Some optional features rely on third parties, and your use of them is also governed by those parties' own terms:
Google: Sign-in, push notifications, ads, the Gemini AI behind the optional AI Assistant.
Apple: Sign in with Apple on iOS.
Our hosting provider: Hosting services.
MoneyKhata shows no ads unless the feature is available; where consent is required, declining means no personalized ads.
The AI Assistant stays off until you explicitly enable it.
We may update the App, add or remove features, or discontinue it.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law.
We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost data (see section 2), lost profits or lost savings arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the App, which is zero — MoneyKhata is free.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
MoneyKhata is not directed at children.
The App, its design, code and content are owned by Dolly Kumari and protected by applicable laws.
These Terms grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the App; they do not transfer any ownership to you.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
